Neena Gupta recalls playing Feroz Khan’s older sister, who was 20 years her senior; Uunchai co-star Sarika replies, ‘That’s false.’
Neena Gupta is a Bollywood actress who frequently plays the role of a mother onscreen. Previously, the actress discussed how female performers playing mothers and older siblings to younger male stars used to be common in Bollywood.
The Badhaai Ho actress stated that she once played an older sister to actor Feroz Khan. He was two decades her senior. According to indianexpress.com, actress Neena Gupta was accompanied by her co-star Sarika from Uunchai during a Mirchi interview.

During a promotional interview for her upcoming film Unchai, Neena Gupta and Sarika discussed. It consists how they portrayed older siblings to actors much older than her. Moreover, how actors would romance women nearly two to three decades younger.
Among those who appeared in the film were Sanjay Dutt, Nagma, and Manisha Koirala. Her Uunchai co-star Sarika agreed, adding that in recent times. Actors’ personalities & roles have altered as more and more actresses are eager to portray fathers to grown-up ladies, which was never the case.
Mirchi Interview
During a Mirchi interview, Neena Gupta was seen addressing it, saying, “I once portrayed Feroz Khan’s older sister. He was 20 years my senior.
I’ve played several roles like this because there were no TV series or anything at the time. We only had movies, and these were the only parts we could get.” “Playing a mother isn’t always negative,” Sarika continued.
It’s unfair to be asked to play mother to someone who is only four years your junior in real life. It’s great that so many men in their 50s are playing fatherhood.
She claimed that “70-year-olds” would act as main and romantic actresses. Sarika remarked that, while playing mother isn’t always a terrible thing. It’s inappropriate to assign the role to performers who are young in reality.
Upcoming Film Uunchai
In terms of their upcoming film Uunchai, produced by Rajshri Productions. While directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film depicts the narrative of three friends who decide to fulfill their fourth friend’s last wish at any cost, which is to climb Mt. Everest.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Anupam Kher in the lead roles and Parineeti Chopra as their guide. It is set to be released on November 11th.
On the work front, the second season of Neena Gupta’s web series. Masaba Masaba was recently published, and she was also seen in Panchayat 2. She also appeared in Goodbye, Mr. Chips, opposite megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
